Thread: RisingHost.net?

  1. #1

    RisingHost.net?

    Does anyone here use them?

Long story short, i cannot access the cpanel anymore, and i have a feeling they ditched. I need backups of my DB's.. i run a huge network with over 1000 users and a TON of money involved.

Does ANYONE have any way i can get in contact with them, or anyone related to them. I would just like to get my DB's.

    Thank you!

If I were you, I would submit a ticket at risingwebworks.com
Michael and his team should get back to you fairly quickly.

Feel free to submit a ticket. While we do not have root server access any longer, we will do our best to obtain your data. Thanks

-- That is indeed correct. From what I have been told, Mike Ousley attempted to wipe out the OS's on most of the servers making most data inaccessible. We are working our hardest to correct these problems.

    OMG,
does that mean that risinghost.net which became risingwebworks.com, were actualy on trexhost's servers !

kr3wsupra, I hope you are able to get your data back.

If I am not mistaken, risinghost.net was hosted at Peerless Machines.

We didn't loose the RWW website because it is hosted on our own servers. Let's not start another repeat of the last thread. The issue has been resolved, I think this thread can be closed now.

I figured Rising Web Works was on their own servers. I believe RisingHost.net was at Peerless Machines because the whole idea of Rising Web Works was being planned out - I believe the website was being designed as well.

As John stated, we were hosted at Peerless Machines prior to us getting our own boxes.

So just to clarify "RisingHost.net " managed to let Kr3wsupra down, without any help from trexhost, but now they have resolved the problem, which I assume means moved him to RWW.

May I take this opportunity to recommend keeping upto date backups of all data,
just in case something goes wrong, like un-reachable sites/RisingHost.net.

I guess they eventualy worked out that RisingHost.COM, would not be too happy with them using RisingHost.NET, so changed to an alternative name - RWW

Kr3wsupra, I am very pleased that your data has been rescued, hope it stays that way.

Mike tried to contact the owner of RisingHost.com, but was unable to (my guess). I think that is why he bought RisingWebWorks.com.

My data has NOT been rescued, and this is getting fairly annoying.

I don't want to over react, but to say the least, this is turning into a major problem. Over 1000 users who have A LOT money invested in my site are losing, and i am taking the brunt of it.

No responses to my ticket reply today. Anyone have any advice?

    John,
I'm afraid Mike H, can't even contact his boss James when he[James] owes him his wages, can't contact Mike O, when he[Mike O] owes him money,
do you realy believe he tried very hard to contact the owner of risinghost.com,
    back in early 2007 ?

Kr3wsupra, I'm very sorry to hear your data was not rescued.

I understand from another WHT thread re RWW, that they changed there 'ticket/support sytem' from WHMCS to Ka...... , search WHT for the link.

    edit, here's the link: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?p=4949483
The 'long big post' is the one to read.

It may be some help, but it looks as though you need to accept [however difficult & frustrating] that you prob. will never get your data back.

I'm just trying to be of some help, because 'I feel for the little guys'.

  18. Why would MikeO erase his servers? and delete his customers?

Also even if he did, wouldn't he still have at hand the backups take days/weeks earlier?

So how did arcanix get their data back? What IP address did they go to, or where could i find the one for rising host?

    This may sound daft, but:
post once more to get up to 5 posts, then you can PM him, I think.
Good Luck, but don't hold your breath.

I tried to contact them several times, and currently I have a backorder on the domain name.

It appears as though some of the servers were tampered with and some were not. It is still under investigation at this time. Arcanix went to the IP of the server he was housed on.

Please feel free to try yourself using:

    ns3.trexhost.com/whm or /cpanel
    THROUGH
    ns11.trexhost.com/whm or /cpanel

Once again, I apologize for the delays. We are working around the clock, Paying customers are simply first priority.

You might like to re-state that you were hosted with RisingHost.net
    not trexhost.
Mike H has said this was not on trexhost servers so, I don't know about anybody else, but it realy does not add up or make sense.

RisingHost.net, became RWW, but an ex. risinghost client can't be given acces to his data.

I know many will agree when I say 'I'm missing something'.

Ah correct, i was on risinghost.net. I just figured it was hosted on trex host considering they both went down.

Well, if risinghost.net "became" RWW, wouldn't the DBs from rising host still contain the info?

I really don't see why this is dragging out so long. Mike, is it that hard to help me out? I would really appreciate it. I understand you may have a lot going on, but i can't imagine getting the DBs for me being that difficult.

Even if i had to "buy" an account on RWW, i really don't care at this point.

    lol,

To me it sounds like when James went missing (or a little before), Mike and or Mikes or whoever decided to run risinghost.net off of the trexhost servers. With the servers going down, this would just be simple to transfer all trex and rising hosts to there new server (Risingwebworks)to save face>?

    No?

and why is it all so confusing? there is never any real explanation.

I have known Michael for almost a year now and he did not even mention Rising Host until just recently. I believe he tried to start that company up once but things did not work out. When James left he was not planning to move all TrexHost clients to Rising Host or Rising Web Works, he was actually trying to find a job to make up for the income he was losing.

But I thought the argument here was the loyality to trexhost?

What do you mean, "loyalty to TrexHost?" When those servers went offline at TrexHost, what would have happened next? Hundreds of clients would have been devastated! When Michael moved them all to Rising Web Works, I think that was loyalty to the TrexHost clients.

Not sure what threads you are reading, but you just wrote a post confirming what I just said.

If it was loyalty to Trexhost then surely he would have offered them free hosting until the renewal date they had with Trexhost?

He saw an oppurtunity to make a few $ and grabbed it, whether right or wrong is irrelevant but thats what happened.

Update, and only 48 hours to get a full reply.

Out of respect to the owner of risinghost.com and the broader WHT community
I will not make public that reply, I'll just say it's exactly what you expect & maybe a little more.

Following my own advise given to Mike H at the begining of this fiasco, I shall be consulting a lawyer before deciding wether or not to release any of it's content, either to the Community/Public, or to those that PM me.
[Thanks by the way to those that have pm'd me positively]

Brent, welcome back, I thought maybe you had become 'unreachable',
Will you be making any posts here?
or will you continue to let the children here take the pain for you ?

I'm reachable, even when I go to LLAMEDOS

    or very very similar.
