I have just started an online business and obviously need some serious traffic to my website. Does anyone know of any good ways to get a guaranteed service

Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing & MSN Adcenter are probably your best bet.

digitaldaniel, welcome to WHT. No one ad will guarantee you something. And you have to understand that, unless you buy it from domewhere. In this case you will have trafic, buyt not sure if targented.

    Traffic for my sites

hey there - I have also tried all the different options. Funny enough enhancedvisitors.com bought me the most traffic, Google and Yahoo was extremely expensive as i found the bid prices very high. Enhanced visitors gave me good traffic as i could choose the category of advertising which means it was very targeted, i am also keen to hear of any other advertising mediums that anybody else has had good results on, please let me know

You can try local advertising or sponsorships to get things rolling. Optimise your site for search engines and submit your site to many directories etc.

Generally, unless you have something very attractive, you are looking to spend a good deal of money on advertisements. Of course this depends on your competitors too.

    Yeah, thanks,

I have a SEO strategy in place, so that is rolling

    Has anyone else tested enhancedvisitors.com

I havent for a while, but will test again and report back to all

There is no point in using these sites that offer to send you 10000 visitors for some money. You want visitors that are going to buy something and not just visitors who have your site load in a popup window while visiting another site. Advertise locally or in a niche market.

What kind of business is it? Go to related sites and put up some advertisements, AdWords will be too expensive to make it useful for you. I wouldn't bother with sites that offer to drive "100,000 unique visitors" it is useless traffic and all they are doing is eating up your bandwidth. Start a blog and talk about your business, get people interested.

    Hi Acebeat / digitaldaniel

I agree with you - local focused advertising is best, but often difficult and expensive. Goggle adwords - excellent - again expensive. I would do a combination of Local focused advertising, Google Adwords and I would also put a few dollars into enhancedvisitors.com. Depends on your budget. First put together a budget and decide want you want to spend on marketing and I would splt it 40 % Local Advertising, 40 % Adwords and 20 % on purchased traffic

Why throw away money? If you are just looking for an ego stroke by getting larger traffic numbers, then go for it. If you are looking to increase revenues through quality traffic, then these gimmiks will have an opposite effect.

I agree. There's plenty of threads on WHT that jive with that statement.

To the OP, if you're looking for guaranteed traffic, I hope you're not assuming that people will not just sign up for your service because they ran across your website and found low prices and high specs. If anyone does they will probably churn in a month or two which will probably get very expensive at the cost you're paying to acquire them.

You need to start small, probably locally or in a niche as has been previously mentioned and remember that building a business is not a sprint, but a marathon. Once you build up a customer based from the ground up, then looking at options like GoogleAds becomes more viable when using them very strategically.

I disagree with you - any marketing strategy is a combination of different marketing approaches - all achievings the goal of sales. You can't start a business and just use one marketing avenue. Enhancedvisitors.com worked for me - the success rate is low but the volumes of traffic are cheap. It's certainly not a gimmick.

RatepointGuy is correct - at the end of the day - once you have your customer base spend you time and energy working on servicing them properly and keep in regular contact with them offering new services or offerings.

lol, You are not going to find any business writing your URL on the bottom side of peoples mufflers, should this be included? neither should this enhancedgimmik.com

What site did you use them on?

Have a small guest house called daddy long legs - used them on this site. I do agree with you GoogleAdWords is a better solution. Have also wasted my time before on junk software costing a fortune and promising to optimise my site for traffic. A waste of time.

There's no doubt that these traffic programs will send a lot of traffic, but will they send a lot of CUSTOMERS that is the question, and the answer at the end of the day is no, not really, mainly because no one knows WHO the heck they're sending.

Now an interesting cross over here is StumbleUpon. For 0.05 a person, they will send people over to your website via their toolbar, which is very popular. You can select very specific categories that you want to target. When people visit your site they'll have the option to give it a thumbs up or a thumbs down on top of it. Since it's owned by EBay, you can give it a bit more credibility in the reputatin department.

It's not guaranteed traffic, and it may not convert, but the quality is better, and you only pay for it when people land on your site.

Aside from the obvious adwords, yahoo directory listings, etc.. DMOZ, and listing in other web directories, specifically niche directories is a good way to increase traffic.

Do keep in mind that with things like PPC and Adwords, you are gonna get a lot of CRAP traffic, and fraud.. Just something to keep in mind.

    YMMV.

I would definitely recommend checking out adCenter. Studies have shown adCenter to have better conversion rates (depending on the vertical) than either Yahoo or Google. You also pay less per click since there are fewer advertisers (less competition keeps prices down).

We are having real success with Google Adwords. It just takes alot of focus and you can get good terms and quality clicks for a good value.

Based on this forum, we spent $4.75 for 1000 hits from enhancedvisitors.com. Can't hurt, right?

Also, we'll be trying out the Microsoft Adcenter as well.

We'll keep you posted on how this goes.
