What kind of host should I get to handle being Dugg?
I have this nifty js script which I expect to be Dugg or slashdotted. After gzipping, script + all images will total 50 kilobytes.
It is a static page, no server scripting whatsoever.
Will a shared host be sufficient to handle all those simultaneous requests? I would like the files to be transferred to end users insanely fast (eg. google.com splash screen speed)
Should I shell out extra for dedicated? If so, what kind of specs on server?
Thanks for the help
I would think just about any host could handle a 50k static file. No offense, but with 50k and a static page, that is just not much.

There's one shared host who is supposedly extremely fast (from what I've read on WHT). Is it MediaLayer?
Edit: I think Zone.net are also pretty fast. Maybe you could get a VPS from them and install lighttpd
MediaLayer will easily be able to handle that with fast page loads.
