Please review my site! Basic HTML speedy site for small computer service company
It is actually one of the first sites I have ever done! www.computerfix.org
In CSS. Eventually it will grow bigger, but for now just let me know what should I change.....
Looks good overall... Nice font usage, easy navigation.
Few important notes:
1. Is there any particular reason why you have the initial splash page? You will probably lose 50% of users once they see the splash page because they wont have/take the time to see what to do next. I would remove that page and instead send the user directly to main.htm
2. The titles of all the pages are for some reason same. I always recommend the title to be "Company Name- Page function"...this is also what is recommended by Jakob Neilson(the usability guru).
3. We always put a bottom footer for all sites we design...basically should contain a sentence abt copyright and an email address for support.
Other than thats, looks fine for a start...hey in future if you need to revamp your site, let me know
ad 1. Initially I had there a lame flash intro...
Then I decided that it takes too long for it to load and it looks bad, so I replaced the intro with the splash screen.... There is a link on a picture and the "Enter Computerfix" phrase is large, should I make it bigger? Maybe that would help.....?
But I will consider removing the "intro" thx.....
ad 2. It will be fixed, thanks
ad 3. I will fix that as well
I give it an A+... Site is very basic yet gives all information needed and nothing more.. thats something thats hard to find these days.. i agree with the above post about the splash page.. i love it and all but you will prob loose people having it..
I like the design, it presents the owner/advertiser in a tasteful and unobtrusive manner.
I don't like splash pages and I encourage you not to add Flash - I hate Flash, don't have it installed, and usually close the window immediately if it looks to me like a webpage has got that sort of thing on it. YUCK.
If I want to watch twirly animated things, I watch TV.
(I did think the graphic on the splash page was done nicely, I just think splash pages are useless fluff. But the image was good and might work nicely somewhere else.)
