They can't PM you, as they haven't been here long enough and have enough posts. Them forum guidelines give hints on when certain promotions are earned.

Speaking of the forum guidelines, they also spell out that it's not appropriate to ask someone to PM you. What good is a forum if all 'tips' are sitting in a PM box?

So, if you can help the OP, please do. But please post those tips so everyone can benefit.

Realize the pagerank of yourself is greatly scaled by the amount of links pointing to and thus "voting" for your website in rank with google's SERPs. Read Google's section for webmaster's for more about PageRank.

That's a little simplistic but any more in depth tips would be very welcome.

Before you aim for high page rank, I suggest you develop first good, quality content in your site. Once you have good content, people will link to your site and you will get good back links. Hope this helps.

Why would you want to target this, are you making a site to just sell text links?

Good Content + dofollow, organic/natural or one-way backlinks = higher PR

Maclyn... wbs251 just about hit the hammer directly on the head on this thread: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=673303

I would stress IMHO:

#5 Blogs/Forums/Profiles
#4 Back links. The more relevant the better.
#3 Meta - Keywords, Alt Images, Descriptions etc..
#2 Original Content, and a lot of it. (See Below)
#1 Good Keyword Title Placement (See Below)

#2
------------------------------------------------------

Its great to be listed on Google, MSN, and/or Yahoo! on the frontpage with your mainpage. But that is only one page. A good SEOized website will have many pages listed on these search engines. This is where your original content comes in. Create 10-15 original content pages that go with what your mainpage is about. Then link to do 10-15 pages from your mainpage.

For each page, make sure to use gooe SEO tips like utilizing good Keyword Title Placement etc. Also focus on getting some people to link to your newly created content pages, which will also help a bit.

Another tip would be create a RSS feed, so you can publish your pages to RSS hubs/websites. Then you can stream in some RSS feeds from other pages, to give your site more updated content.

#1 Focus a lot of attention on using niche Keywords in your title. If your website is about: Pet Food, try to use keywords that will expand on this.. such as:

<TITLE>Organic Pet Food - Natural Pet Food - Hollistic Pet Food</TITLE> etc...

In this by using googe SEO tips, good title keywords, meta, original content... your webpages will eventually start to show high on Google, MSN, and Yahoo!

Last Tip:
---------

I have done this 4 times now, and its worked everytime. Mind you, results might be different for you.

I purchased vBulletin then streamed in a lot of content via the RSS Feeder. One site i'll mention is a Job Listing Database. It has 79,245 webpages (threads) and has 15,100 indexed pages on Google. Mind you.. this forum is maybe 4-5-6 months old. And generates a ton of traffic. So this is just 1 idea (that might be a bit unique) that you can try
