Its great to be listed on Google, MSN, and/or Yahoo! on the frontpage with your mainpage. But that is only
one page. A good SEOized website will have many pages listed on these search engines. This is where your original content comes in. Create 10-15 original content pages that go with what your mainpage is about. Then link to do 10-15 pages from your mainpage.
For each page, make sure to use gooe SEO tips like utilizing good Keyword Title Placement etc. Also focus on getting some people to link to your newly created content pages, which will also help a bit.
Another tip would be create a RSS feed, so you can publish your pages to RSS hubs/websites. Then you can stream in some RSS feeds from other pages, to give your site more updated content.
#1 Focus a lot of attention on using niche Keywords in your title. If your website is about

<TITLE>Organic Pet Food - Natural Pet Food - Hollistic Pet Food</TITLE> etc...
In this by using googe SEO tips, good title keywords, meta, original content... your webpages will eventually start to show high on Google, MSN, and Yahoo!

Mind you.. this forum is maybe 4-5-6 months old. And generates a ton of traffic. So this is just 1 idea (that might be a bit unique) that you can try
