I'ts certainly great from a seo point to have the keywords in the domain, but not the only factor. Despends on how competitive "green apples" is as a keyword set.

No. "green apples" is exact match, and it's different than greenapples

Will certainly do if your website is optimized
Search Google for "web hosting talk"

in the case domain name i think green apple and also the without space also wont work well. Google considering the title and the content only. if you include green apple in the title or some where in the content then it will work....

Having keywords in your domain name will certainly help in rankings. But this can only be determined how well you optimize onpage (title, meta, keywords) and offpage (backlinks using your keywords as anchor texts).

You would appear among the first search results only if your web stie is relevant to the keywords. That means to have a good content and excellent SEO strategy. The domain name does not guarantee rank in results.

Ah, looking at Google currently I would say you have a better chance of coming up for a search for:
"greenapples.com"
"green apples" looks as though it is bringing up several other sites that rank higher for that keyword phrase.
In order to really have a better chance of ranking higher for that kw phrase you are going to want to ad relevant content to the site at "greenapples.com" and ad meta descriptions/keywords and alt tags that focus on that particular keyword phrase.
The domain name alone is not enough to get a site to rank on a specific keyword phrase. In other words, NO, simply having that domain name is not a guarantee of a high rank.

It is not quite that easy. Not even for a term that has under a million competing pages.
xghettohoodx: make sure the term is in your title tag, it should also appear prominently in the page content. Then you will need to go get in the neighborhood of 20-30 decent links with the anchor text "green Apples". That should be all you need.

The URL does not play a direct role in rank. The reason that it seems to help is that when people link to you they often times use those two words to link to you.

it could take you a lot of time and work to get number one for a keyword if that keyword is popular like said above links that go to your site is a good way to achieve this if combined with good site optimization.
