    Quick Question about sudo

    Hello All,
I am trying to setup my box as I don't have to use root to login all the time ( I know I know). I have created another account using useradd XXXXX -d HOMEDIRECTORYIWANT

My question is if there is a way to make the new user type the root password instead of the account password when accessing su or sudo? Seems like that would be more secure in the event the new account gets hacked or passowrd exposed? I am in the weeds with the wheel group and sudoers file and would appreciate some help!

I have always followed the following guide. Use this at your own risk.

    http://www.dynamicnet.net/customer/h...root_login.htm

This should get you going. You may or may not need to add the cpanel user (probably not), but you will want to ad the new user id that you created in place of "admin".

Thanks Chris, after you use those instructions do you use the root password or the useraccount password for sudo?

Following the above guide worked great. Apparently NOT adding my user to the sudoers file gave me the desired outcome of having to use root pass to get root shell, thanks Chris
