    would anyone trust...

    rapidshare.com for backups? they have a remote upload feature. would be very keen for a reply

    No - Any company that protects those who distribute pirated files and other malicious tools would not be a good solution for storing backups.

    For any kind of 3rd party remote backup service, you should pay very close attention to their Terms of Service and Privacy policy. If you haven't yet, do. If they aren't completely clear on how they will treat your data and protect its integrity, find another service.

    I personally would recommend a rsync/ftp service like rsyncpalace etc, They cost next to nothing these days i think rsyncp is $6 per 15gb or something?
