    snmpd won't start

My configuration is correct because I have been using the same one on multiple servers. I have run into this on another server actually, where the init script says it starts, but it in fact has not started. Stopping it results in a fail, and its nowhere to be found in the process list, but the PID file exists. I turned it to verbose and had it output to a log file, and the only thing I see is NET-SNMP version 5.1.2. Any ideas?

    Well

Turned out that yum was giving me an older version that just didn't work for whatever reason. Installed from an RPM and it worked fine.
