A few ways to set this up:

1. If your DirectoryIndex is for example:
DirectoryIndex index.php index.html index.htm

You can create a file named index.php or html or htm and it will show the contents of that file.

Read more: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/mod...directoryindex

2. Turn off Indexes in the Directory directive

Read more: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/mod/core.html

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Pedram M.

If you are using apache, to remove indexing globally, remove the word Indexes from the file /etc/httpd/conf/access.conf and restart apache.
