    Question Control Panel Branding?

I've been wondering weather people using control panels like cPanel use the branding feature? On one hand branding is very important as in any business but on the other hand does it matter to clients that already signed up?

cPanel is a well known control panel so if you brand it someone is going to know that your using cPanel, even if someone wanted to hide the fact that the software they use is from a 3rd party company.

If you don't brand your control panel is it because the name shows quality or something they would expect from a web host?

If you do brand your control panel do your clients find it annoying seeing your logo branded on they're control panel every time they sign in?

You are right, branding a commodity system might seem like an act of marketing desperation or ego.

Branding cpanel would be the equivalent of some company with a site license branding Microsoft Office so that their employess know it's a company system

How do you mean? To replace the cPanel logo with your own, you only need to go into the Branding Editor and click on Edit Logo and in that form, upload your logo. You can then evaluate this and if satisfied, apply this to all accounts.

Can you imagine trying to brand this on 30+ servers? One reason why we dont bother and dont find it necessary. Also there is some nice themes included in Cpanel and many of our customers like to customize the layouts.

You can use one server to initially create the branding. Then download the branding to your workstation where you can then upload it to all your other servers.

Branding does not negate the ability of resellers to further customize the layout via the Branding Editor.

If we brand cPanel to show our company logo, for resellers and more importantly their customers accounts, does it still show the default branding? Or does it show our logo & branding unless they also customise it?
