You can actually stream using either shoutcast or window media player on the same shoutcast account. This is provided you configure your server correctly.

Sorry to rain on the parade here, but Shoutcast is definitely the way to go. I work directly with the largest internet stations in the world - Shoutcast is the standard. I mean it's free... And if a company can run hundreds of thousands of listeners simultaneously without problems, there must be something to SC!

I would personally take a trip to the website of my favorite dedicated server company, buy a server, shut down every port except for your defined shoutcast port.

I would say, get your own private server. Either with a reputable company or collocated and install Shoutcast and run it yourself.

It's better to start with shoutcast server because you say you don't want to give a lot of money. If you get dedicated server you have to give a lot of money. So start slow slow with shoutcast server to see how is going and then when you see you need more power, you can get dedicated. But remember there you have to give much money.
