I've been away from this forum to long. I had no idea these two hosts were going at it. Thanks for the interesting links.

Actually, those two should be reversed, chronologically speaking.

Right, I'm gonna have to jump onto the host blog bandwagon then, seems all the cool kids are doing it. I've got a big mouth, I got plenty to say that would be sure to offend some.

And people moan about "kiddie" hosts being immature... some of the blog posts by the owners/shareholders/directors of these companies are wholly unprofessional.

Yeah, what I was thinking... some of it is interesting, but there's some unnecessary things being said.

    Hi!
A interesting little tidbit...Lunarpages now uses trialpay.

I really had no intention of signing up for anything..but...I tried to navigate away..presto! Don't go! Pay with Trial Pay!

I have actually used Trial Pay before..so I went ahead and gave it a email. I'm not sure exactly how it works..or who gets paid what..but you can sign up for a free trial..cancel it on time..and get whatever almost free.

I never thought I'd see a host using them..but..hey...why not?

While it is entertaining to read, from a business viewpoint trying to discredit another company outright and getting into these types of pissing matches is unprofessional and make the company look bad.
    At least thats my opinion.

Maybe I am naive being new and all in the business. Maybe this is good for 'business' with any type of publicity being good publicity.

Pretty funny read. Unfortunate the companies are acting like kids with it though.

    Hi!
One last thing...sadly..no free paid-by-someelse Lunarpages hosting for me. The offer I had planned to sign up for was not to be..and the others are of no interest at all..so that's the end of that. I find it odd there were so few offers this time.

Oh well. I really had no need for it anyway.

    >>On second thought..that's *MY* link. You can get your own if you choose.

Tongue in cheek has always been Dreamhost's approach, though it is in most cases made with style. Lunarpages just looks like the betrayed wife trying to get back at her ex-husband, you know?!

But keep in mind the publicity Dreamhost got these last two days. I've seen man of the newsoutlets that never would've wirtten about Dreamhost doing so, which is good - even if the message itself might not be that positive.

    There's another reason why I ♥ dreamhost.

This is the absolute only error I've ever encountered pretty much - the billing one.

I truly hate uberprofessional never-a-single-typo, never-any-humor staff. The best webhost to me is one where _ALL_ the staff actually like their job, have a passion for it. Not just to get paid.

And Episode II: Attack of the CrazyPenguin

Just for the record I am not in the hosting business.

But I will have more to say about Bluehost in the future.
