Trying to install Ubuntu on an iBook. Booting order question

    Hey.
    I have a question.
My friend was stupid enough to buy some iBook computer running mac 9.1 and well, nothing runs on it and I've decided to install Ubuntu linux.
I downloaded the PPC version and all that.
Now, how do I boot from that disk? I found in the settings of the computer some booting manager and it had the option to book from the disk but the option was not highlighted, and I could not choose it.

Is there any other way to change the booting device? For example in PCs you hit del or f1 or f12 to go to the bios and then you can choose a booting order. Is there anything similar here?

    Thanks in advance.

Heh, thanks but it doesn't quite answer my question.
The person suggested to issue CMD-OPT-O-F.
How and where do I do it? Just type it? When?

Sorry, I'm a real noob in macs.

OK, Basically, hold down CMD-OPT-O-F when you first press the power button. And then when the grey screen appears with the spinning gear it should bring up a diagnostics / drive selection screen.

If the CD is a bootable CD then you could always hold down C or CMD+C at boot up instead, or buy OSX its cheap enough, plus it runs photoshop etc... Where with Ubuntu you only have GIMP etc....
