A worpress template installed with fantastico?

I have A worpress template installed with fantastico but I wan't to change it. I see you can upload a template by ftp. But if I dump it into the same directory it will overwrite my database settings.. Is this correct?
How do I put a new template into the directory but keep the settings that fantasico configured?

When you upload the template to the wp-content/themes directory, nothing changes. Nothing happens to your database or files.

You will need to login as admin, click on Presentation and then click on the new theme that will popup. Only then will the theme be put into use.

Also try http://themes.wordpress.net/ - and by the way, you can always switch back to your old template as long as you don't delete it from the folder. It's really easy to switch templates in wp.
