Can't install cpanel on my VPS

    Hi,

I'm a total server newbie, i know how to do some things but trying to get cpanel installed on my vps i'm like bashing my head off a brick wall.

Everytime i'm reinstalling my vps from the VZPP, then running the cpanel installation commands, it's just comming up with errors. I contacted cpanel and they said it was becauce my yum package manager was'nt working properly (ehhh). How do i get it working properly or how do i install it, then after i install it what do i need to do then.

I'm willing to learn, so if someone could give me some step by step instruction for me to follow (hopefully i'll not be unconsence by then) that would be great.

Also if theres any errors that a thrown up at me for someone to be on hand to help me iron them errors out.

Any help would be much appreciated

    Thanks,
    Chris

PS - to mods, if this post is in the wrong place, please move it.

You'll need to visit your OS vendor's website and download the yum rpm, as well as any dependencies you'd need from it. Install them on your VE and *then* run the cPanel install command.

Good luck! It's not that bad once you get it going... good experience.

Shouldn't that information have been sent to him in a PM or an email instead of posting it on WHT?

when they go into a vps to do work i change my clients vps and root pass and then back to the original when the datacenter or any one of the support reps do something

Mods, you might want to remove the IP.

did i (or orien) ever say anything wrong?

we were just pointing out that the post should have been a PM - but since the IP is here; its a "threat" to the site.

go ahead and tell the admins/mods to close it -- its best for you, and seriously, you have to learn to chill.

I don't really know what you're being so defensive about.

No ones attacking anyone... we're simply stating its a stupid idea to post your servers IP address on an active forum. Kinda common sense really.
