Hostgator Reseller

I have some problems with hostgator, they only allow 200 emails per hour. Kind of low if you are running sites with members don't you think?

Any suggestions? My budget is around 250 a year.

You might be able to find hosts allowing something like 500 emails per hour.

You need to keep in mind though that the looser the rules, the higher the chances of trouble, either server load related, or IP blacklist related. Make the rules too lax, and all hell breaks loose.

We recently deployed 5 mail gateway servers. These servers rotate out constantly with each having a limit of 100. This usually allows for 400-500 emails an hour. We still need to update our tos and staff to reflect this which will most likely be done on Monday.

So in a nut a shell our limit is 500 a hour if you time it right between all five servers rotating.

Most companies have similar limitation. It's normal on a shared server. You maybe look for another solution like rent a dedicated server.

Most of the big companies with shared hosting environment will have such limits.. If the no. of Outgoing mails are more, then it makes sense to go for dedicated servers..

I agree with others. If you need to send out a large volume of mail then you are better off getting a dedicated solution

Most shared servers have limits such as these, as already said if you go for a dedicated or a VPS you would have control over the limit.

500 emails per hour is nice, most hosting only allow 50 up to 100 emails per hours
