Upgrading apache

Hiya,

I currently have a basic level VPS and was wondering if it is wise to upgrade apache from 1.3 to 2.2 and php to 5?

I am not quite sure why do I want to upgrade when everything is already running smoothly but it's just if something better exist then why not take advantage of that?

Anyone who can advise if this is going to a be a wise move? I have quite a few sites running on php so might have issues with newer version.

you could try it easily. upgrade and if there are problems, downgrade again.
There could be some problems with php4 data and the "new" php5.
But I think that it is not easy to give a general advice.

Not at all......everything is good at the moment. It has got 384MB of ram so would think it should be okay to upgrade.

You should make sure none of the scripts are going to not work when you do an upgrade. Unless of course if they're all your sites and you don't have to worry about anyone getting mad at you.
