Sagonet.com has a good network/pricing. Three data centers, all connected.

We're having troubles at Burst.Net. It seems OK from time to time, but we're getting occasional complete downtime and timeout. I'm especially angry at not being notified of the issue, and as our clients require uptime and brilliance, I'm already looking elsewhere.

This is because they are having problem with routers and had to replace the chassis.

It is a hardware problem and it just happen that is why there is no notification but instead they fixed it right away.

Hardware problem can happen a lot. The important here is how fast you can fix or replace it.

How do you know this? Notification would have been nice, but if the issue was of that nature, perhaps its better to get it fixed. The problem is, it's been on-going for two days now.

As i stated above, this is a on-going issue, three days ago they told me this was a router issue and that the ram was replaced.

They wont even talk to me about the SLA.

Lastly there blaming Sprintlink and CogentCO on there voice recording however both companys are reporting status as fine.

    This is totally unacceptable.

I used Burst several years ago and canceled due to outages and packet loss. A search in Providers and Network Outages and Updates forum will give you ~200 threads on their issues.

Yep, it's been two days and still after equipment replacement. Don't they have redundancy?

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

I wouldn't expect Burst to notify you at all. You aren't a customer of burst, you are a customer of a reseller of burst, VaguHost.

    I know
I guess it's their responsibility to us, but really BurstNET has to fix it. It looks like everything is up now. In total downtime has been about 30mins max (just many 5 min incidents). Network is back up fast again, let's hope they manage to keep it this time

Naaaa..I'm a direct customer..and alertra is the only reason I'm aware of all this up and down...up and down stuff.

Burst takes the record for having the most email mailing lists that are completely 100% devoid of any traffic nonewhatsoever.

    I..well...feh.

    Jack Daniels! Take me Awwwwwaaaayyyyy!

    >>>Oh Yes! Funny thing...I was actually talking to AtlantaNAP right before this all happened about cage/office space for a client's upcoming project.

    Yeah Buddy!

Looking like everything is fine now, let's hope it remains that way. The network is speedy at last. We could say we're lucky, compared to other DC's downtime problems recently.

I'm experiencing network issues as well.

I signed up with BurstNET last month for their tempting deals, they looked great for a gameserver.

The server was delivered after 3 days, which was a bit disappointing to me, however I understood as the volume of the orders they were getting must've been outrageous.

However, the server has had lag issues throughout the over 20 days I've been with them, my ping to the server is ~65ms... which I think is high considering I live in Northwestern Ohio and they're in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Guess that tells you they've got a "value" network.

And the past few days, the spotty network downtime has been... well, disappointing.

I guess I can only put this one down as experience, you get what you pay for, and obviously I got what I paid for.

I had tried running a game server with them in the past and also found out it would not work out. Cogent is horrible for game servers in the first place and the constant packet loss makes it unplayable.

You might want to make a new post for recommendations. And try the offers section. I'm looking frantically.

I think that BurstNET should step up to the plate here and add service time and money back to accounts that were affected by this, oh wait the SLA is pretty much crap.

This is by far the worst DC i have delt with, and they don't even allow IRC.

Thanks to this thread I will be giving Burst some time to "prove" themselves before signing up with them. I was going to sign up for one of their specials but definitely not now.

I know all companies have hiccups here and there but this seems to be much larger than a hiccup.

Hopefully I will be relieved to see Burst step up and take care of their customers both $$ and with time if that is what the SLA provides.

Going to have to on this.

    -------------

We are at the Burst facility right now working with them to resolve
these issues. Basically, their core router had a bad supervisor card,
which was replaced last night. Todays problems were caused by faulty ram
in the router. Tonight they ended up just replacing the entire router
with a new one and we are back online and should be fine. Please let me
know if you are having any further problems. We are very sorry about all
    of this.

  33. #33
Personally I would stay away from any services provided directly from BurstNET/Nocster or any other places re-selling dedicated servers using BurstNET bandwidth, there response time to mission critical task is a disaster.

As Volume Drive said, they told him it was a supervisor card and ram, they told me this three days ago, three days of packet loss is just not go0d business from a established DC nor is being neglectful of such a crippling issue, I have reviewed Burst's SLA and my legal adviser and I are discussing possible action if they fail to abide by it, as they denied that there were any problems this morning, before the rapid failures even after our security team insisted on graphs of failure.

    Honesty is the best policy.

Makes me glad I didn't sign up with one of their resellers, Volumedrive It's unacceptable, Burstnet has been in business for a long time. Oh well, those deals sounds too good to be true. Maybe they are not not giving all the details for the downtime.

Exactly Ryan exactly.... So they have one router for a whole network?

nah, it was a misconfiguration or them just twiddling their thumbs while everything went to $&!T.

They do not give a c%4P about clients apparently.

In the mean time does anyone have any recommendations for a dedicated solution that includes cpanel/whm for a decent price.
