    Hosting on Linux Platform

    Hi,

Can someone recommend a good host on Linux platform? Nothing fancy, but detailed website statistics will be nice to have. The only one I know is Net Nation.

    Thanks.

I had a good hosting experience with Precision Effect. VT6 worked good as well. What are your requirements?

Google it. There are many, many linux hosts with detailed web statistics. Put together a list of ones you like the look of, then do a Search here to see what reviews they have.

My developers are building a site and they told me they need hosting on Linux platform. I took a plan on Windows Platform and they ofcourse yelled at me for not asking them! I can ask them the requirements tomorrow.
I Googled it and hundreds showed up. I am unable to tell which are good or bad. Also there are so many host resellers that show up in top 100 search results making it difficult to choose.

You cannot use search result for "Linux hosting". It returns too too many You need to have your own requirements, then try to search with those things

Most of the hosts (in this forum) do offer Linux hosting, as for stats, you can search for a host offering Urchin or use Google Analytics (which is basically the same thing)

ataylor - Lots of banners! The question is which one has stable hosting.

hpham: yeah, I will get the requirements tomorrow and try to narrow down from 1000

jedito: The hosting I use on Windows platform has amazing web stats and I was hoping to find similar feature on Linux.

Alex Pher: Yes, that is the question - and to answer it, you need to do some research. The search function here is a great help.

I suggested the google search just for a general idea, to bring up some company names that could then be searched for.

    Hi Alex!

Most all hosting companies offer Linux platforms as it is pretty much the defacto standard for hosting. To narrow down your search, figure out exactly what all of your requirements are and use WHT's HostQuote feature. You will find it in the menus at the top of each page. This will give you specific companies that you can then review.

Good luck and let us know how you make out!

I believe that it is for windows platform.

With linux, the most common stats programs are Awstats and Webalizer.

Yes, it is on Windows platform and quite impressive compared to any other webstats program I have seen in the past.

Honestly, I never used it, however, have you tried Google Analytics?

My primary host does not offer hosting on Linux Platform. I have a few in mind and I'll let my developers pick one since I only look at the site and the stats. This is one of our own projects so I hope we pick the best available for the price!
