Thread: FTP Backups

    FTP Backups

    Hello,

I have a VPS and an NAS in same data center that are connected via a private network within the datacenter. I can access the datacenter's private network and both servers via VPN.

I can access VPS via SSH. How do I FTP the data on the VPS to the NAS without downloading to my desktop and re-uploading?

    Thanks

scp (presuming your VPS is Linux?)

    Good luck,

Note: In general you can't upload from your desktop directly to NAS.
You will only find out how good a provider is when the going gets tough

Yes, it's Linux... scp looks too easy and completely doable. Thanks

Our VPN puts me on the private network side of the servers. I can go anywhere on the 10.x.x.x network. (Which is where the NAS is.)

    Thanks all...

BTW, FTP != SCP != SFTP.
