Are you using any control panel, I think Helm & Hsphere have built in.

well, I would prefer a standalone billing package since I won't be using Helm/Plesk.

If you use a standalone program on your pc, your clients will not be able to directly signup for your services.
If this is not the case, then you can always install WHMCS on localhost! Simple▌ Managed.gr cloud hosting, paas, vps, dedicated, domain registration on global datacenters.

I think by standalone TARJr meant something that is not inbuilt into control panel.

You can just a get a normal PHP based billing system - those should run on Windows with a bit of tinkering here and there.

yes, I just want to be able to integrate the billing system in my website, not a control panel. It looks like AWBS would work....ooops, but it requires MySql...I prefer MS Sql...

Both AWBS and WHMCS work fine under Windows, and both use PHP and MySQL. You'll be hardpressed to find one that uses MSSQL that is a standalone billing package.

WHMCS is the easiest billing solution we've ever used. Highly recommended.

Platypus is a Windows-based billing system that uses MSSQL. It is geared more towards larger ISPs and web hosts, not startups who only want to spend $15/month on a billing system license. It was not built as a web-based system but they have web modules for signups and some basic functions

Modernbill had me ready to climb a tower and jump. The guy who developed it should be buried in a ditch and that ditch put on a barge for Antartica.

I believe the post author was looking for something other than whmcs, I'm in the same boat especially after finding out whmcs may not be secure with their latest hack and rumors it's been nulled.
It's been many years since I used modernbill is it still bad? Any SECURED billing systems that one might recommend?
Thanks
John

I am currently using WHMCS and it is brilliant. I havent had any problems with it and it is really user friendly. I really do like this billing software compared to WHMAutopilot, i just found it too complicated. They offer 15 day free trials too

I would recommend doing a custom solution so you can always change it as your needs change.
