How did you find those first two customers? Maybe you can try doing more of whatever worked with them?

First, make sure you're trying to attract the right crowd. Unless you're specifically targeting people who specialize in costumes, you'll want to narrow your target audience first. I suggest sitting down and writing out a business plan. From there, you can get a feel for how you can best reach these potential customers.

I have found a few websites that works. Just make sure to make your prices fair as in this business we have serveral companies to choose from.

Target local clients first! You should be able to pay the server fees from local clients and once you have 1 server full with local clients - expand your limits!

    Good luck!

I would suggest targeting local people and businesses first - either by advertising in your local paper or maybe going door to door to businesses asking them if they have a web site, web host, are they happy, what you can do to make their life better? You'll need to plan out a way to sell yourself to them.

Also you might hang around some of the web development and design blogs and forums out there on the Web and maybe even become familiar with the owners. That way if anybody comes to the needing a suggestion for a web host - you might come to mind in their suggestion.

Look around you. Target friends and family. Tell them what you're doing, see if any of them have a need for it, if they do sign them up and ask them to tell others. If they don't, ask them to tell others. Begin with a network effect until you have some momentum, then start identifying a larger target audience. Starting this way will give you some experience selling to people who can give you constructive criticism on your pitch and services, let you iron out the kinks.

Be the best in the industry. Get to know your clients. Dedicate yourself to helping them with technical issues. Add value to their endeavors.

You need customers. They need a good web host. Deliver exceptional service, and they are likely to stay for quite some time *and* refer their friends to you. That seems to lead to the best customer growth, through retention and referral.

Trying to compete only on price is the downfall of many new businesses, especially hosting companies. Better to find a niche in the market rather than copy the big guys.

    Easy! Halloween Party!
Halloween isn't for awhile though, dress up in drag in the meantime.

(At least that's what I'd do)

It really depends on how much money you have for advertisement. From the tone of your message, I assume that you may have a small amount for advertisement / marketing.

I agree with one of the other posters; you should hangout on boards like this and get your name around. Also you can find some smaller affiliates to start driving you traffic. That being said, its important to tune your conversion rate to its highest possible. Otherwise, you will not be able to convert returning traffic to your site.

firstly, you need to get some sales guys who know english well, since I really dont think you'd be able to impress clients by spelling customers as costumers

That is the key. Starting out will get you only a few, but interact with them and try to provide the best service you can. Continue that, and word of mouth will go around, especially when you spoil them (or, well, have them think they are being spoiled), for they'll usually advertise for you.

All 'n all, package amounts and general advertising can only go so far, it is the customer service that keeps the glue intact.

Agreed. Customer service is really what gets you big and keeps you there. YOu can generate new customers, but they will leave and your costs will go through the roof.
