Help, Webhosting with WAMP......

Hello everyone...
I am fairly new to web hosting from home... As generally i stick to hardware...but anyways i have encountered this problem..

I have installed WAMP on my sever
I have opened up Port80 to it(port forwarding)
I can enter both internal address (address of server 192.1068.1.108) and external ips (my external address 220.239.199.48) into my browser on another computer in the network and it works but as soon as you try on a computer outside my network on the internet some where it just times out....

Im hoping its a simple problem..
But after a few hours i still can not fix it...

Any ideas guys??

Thanks

Right, a few things we need to know:

-Is this a static IP which you are using?
-Do you have port mapping set up on your router?
-If the IP is for the server only, do you have static route mapping setup on your router?

I have port forwarded port 80 to 192.168.1.108...
that is all i have done so far..
I thought i had told set a static address of 192.168.1.108 but i ahd set it as static dns 192.168.1.108... i misread...now i can not see where on the router to set 192.168.1.108 as a static address so that the DHCP server does not try to issue it out....

I have a LINKSYS router....

I have a LINKSYS router....
The 192.168.x.x IP range is an internal one and cannot be used to access internal network computers from outside the network. You will need to request a static public IP for your router from your ISP then set up port forwarding correctly as needed.

We have a static ip of 220.239.199.48....
Which i have then port forwarded from this address to 192.168.1.108
So that when 220.239.199.48 gets a http hit it forwards it to 192.168.1.108....

but when you try access 220.239.199.48 from out side the network it just times out...

did you manage to solve this issue?

try to configure the nat at your router, you need to tell your router each time it receives a package at 220.239.199.48 it should deliver at 192.168.1.108

are you able to telnet from the internet to 192.168.1.108 at port 80?

Nope never managed to work it out.... Its only linksys router... With a GUI interface... So i have port forwarded from 220.238.199.48 to 192.168.1.108.... and i can put in 192.168.1.108 or 220.238.199.48 into my internet and it works but i cant put in 220.239.199.48 from out side my network and it times out....

If you are able to look at router logs or server logs, that would be very beneficial to help solve this issue.

One thing to check also is that if this is a residential account, that they allow port 80. Some ISPs block that, and if so, you will have to move to another port that isn't blocked.

*Edit* Having checked where your IP is, I believe the company does NOT allow port 80 inbound.
