I wrote a pretty complex and feature filled (and stable and secure) web based chat server that runs fast and on any Unix variant or Windows system. I am considering on releasing it for little to no money soon. Let's put it this way, I was asking and getting anywhere from $800 to $2,500 for this software. I just haven't been involved with final the development of the newest version, as I put it on hold. No other developers were involved in the coding or anything, so it'll be up to me to do.. and I don't really have a lot of time to bother with it anymore. Although I do plan to finish and run the new software once I get a dedicated server to run my sites on and I have time to complete the software. I'll let you know if I do release it.
It might be a good plugin for servers to offer and nothing will beat it as far as web based chat servers go. It offers on the fly room creation, complete control and administration of all the aspects from room naming, descriptions, banning of users, IP's, cookies, logging, private and public rooms, private and public messaging, kick user, filtering of HTML, curse words in user names and handles, outside room messaging. A messaging service, membership and access levels, announcements, multiple messaging, user's can select their own room settings as per user icons, backgrounds, text, links, font size, how the entire room is laid out for them, etc. This information is able to be changed at any time.
The user's have permanent or temporary user name protection, encrypted passwords and session files. If they crash and have to log back on and renter a room, all their settings will be saved, as well as all the messages, mutes, etc. There's just really too much to list. A complete member database, chat system, etc. Everything any web chat could possibly offer and it's quick and secure. Really, just to much to list. If enough people are interested, I may offer this.
