    Post experts please help!

    Hi,
I'm looking for a host that accepts anime download/based sites. The anime will be hosted on a free file hosting site so you don't need to worry about it being hosted on the server, at most manga will be hosted for the online gallery and nothing else. so the site have a home page, forum, and online manga gallery.

    I would need the following:

    Cpanel
    PHP 4 or 5
    MYSQL 4.1
    10-20gb space
    50gb bandwidth
    PHP Mail
    And at about $10/month

I appreciate it a lot if you let me know of some options out there, i already tried hostmonster.

i host there for 3 month and at that time i used to keep some of the anime eps and manga on their host (only files that i knew are not copyrighted in US). after a while hostmonster deactivated my account without any warning and there was a message saying you can activate your account only by calling to hostmonster.
i called them and after something like 20 minutes being in the queue the support guy told me that they did that becuz of some copyrighted material file on the host and then he point me to one of those anime file on the host that had nothing to do with copyright, i tried to convince him but finally he set the CHMOD of the file to 400 so nobody could access it and then they activate my account again.
after one month they started to complain again about the other anime files and since i was so tired of convincing them i simply delete all anime eps on my host, and only keep mangas
again a week ago they deactivate my site and after i called them they sent me a letter saying that i have to move out of their host in 72 hours becuz of abusing their terms etc..
it was a very hectic experience and now i'm planing to keep no file on the host just the forum and gallery. i'm worried if other hosts do the same to anime websites or not O.o

You need to read the host's TOS throughly before sign up.

If you remove your cpanel requirement, you have more hosts to choose from - and also hosts that aren't that trigger happy to remove content due to copyright disputes. (Aka, every claim needs to be valid before anything happens with your account.)

Not true... The host need only receive a DMCA takedown notice. It's not the host's job to validate it.

    Hi,

You could look in the Web Hosting Offers forums.

If you didn't go for a cPanel host you could go for one of the other control panels, like directadmin, if you wanted to.

    Garry

Karl, I of course meant that the OP would have more hosts to choose from at his initial selection process.

A more off-topic question; Do you automatically delete/deactivate customers' accounts as soon a DMCA notice come in, without investigating the claim?

No - we disable the account then serve notice to the client immediately. As soon as they submit a counter-claim we put the site back up(unsuspend). From there we don't do anything until we get something from a court and our attorney's say it's valid.
