    Can't find wget

    I can't find wget on a hosting.
SSH command find / -name wget
returns with nothing, however wget works properly on a hosting, what could the problem be?

Check first if wget is installed. Try "whereis wget" if it is installed and it should point you to the path.

Alternatively, you could use curl with the same results:

    "curl -s -o filename URL"

    whereis wget returned with

    [[email protected] ~]# whereis wget
    wget:

However i am pretty sure wget is installed on server, earlier we were transfering accounts from old server using wget.

What OS? Try yum info wget to see if it says it is installed?

Yup, that should fix it, the 'yum info wget' showed that it isn't installed. Who knows what happened to it!

Try again "yum info wget", if it is installed, try calling "/usr/bin/wget" , usually it is installed at this path.
what does 'echo $PATH' give you?

I think i have found the problem, wget file was mysteriously disappearing after i attempted to install fantastico, the problem is that fantastico requires wget update
    https://netenberg.com/forum/index.php?topic=5430.0
After install, wget file mysteriously dissapears..

After doing install once again, the problem was fixed

[[email protected] ~]# find / -name wget
    /usr/bin/wget

    Thanks everyone.

However now a problem updating wget for fantastico..

    Glad you fixed it. anytime!
A workaround would be to use curl instead of wget for fantastico install, not sure it will work though. Contact netenberg and ask them for a resolution. They should help.

I probably took the wrong word, not update, rather changing to a different version.
    This is what fantastico says.

You have a buggy version of wget (wget-1.10.2-7.el5). Before proceeding with installation/upgrade, please see the following page for instructions on how to fix: https://www.netenberg.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5430
