    A few questions on JustHostUK..

Now, this is puzzling me.. the website is JustHostUK.com

Do they oversell? or.. are they loosing money? or.. something else?

I have never seen an offer like this.. really.

    Reseller
    10GB Space
    200GB monthly bw
    cPanel 11 + WHM

    $5 / month.

I am with ResellerZoom and I get 8gb space for $9,95 a month.

    Help?

    Ok lets break this down....

Lets say they have a 250 GB sata hdd

They could host 22 clients for the disk space on the sever without and problems.

22 clients times 200 GB bandwidth = 4,400 GB Bandwidth

    22 Clients times $5.00 for each client = $110.00

It is likely that they are overselling but it is very very possible that they are not.

I've seen that design somewhere before, so someone's either been ripping designs or they're affiliated with an American company. I'll do some digging and find the other site.

They probably are overselling, it's probably just another kiddie host - they always popup in the holiday periods.

EDIT: Found the other site: http://www.ubiquityservers.com/.

I suppose there could be the possibility that they're using templates...

Ah, they state that their design was made by their designers which are paid 900 / month.

After having a sniff around both sites I think that its JustHostUK who have done the site ripping - best to keep away from them.

They appear to be using Softlayer in the US
If you assume they are on the $119 a month server, with the 500GB SATA drive, that works out at a cost of about 50%

    I quote this thread:
    Sarith,

No offense, but you will not get 'the best' layout for your budget. Our layout was designed by the JustCreate graphic designers, there on about 900/month and ours is not even that great. For 35 you will get something basic and to the standard of any old hosting company.

Good luck, but if you have a higher budget I could get a contact to fix you up something really nice.

    Kindest Regards,
    Daniel Debnam

Seeing as they're offering 5 GB with 100 GB Bandwidth for 1 I'd say it was fairly obvious they're overselling their server on a massive scale !

2GB storage and 20GB bandwidth for 50p/month? It would be a little hard for them to scratch together any profit.

If you assume each account is 2GB, then that is 250 accounts
That is 125 profit per month

We're just assuming here. We don't even know the specs of their server(s).

Simple Answer: Yes they overselling to the point where I believe it is not sustainable in the long term.

    Do they oversell?
$5 will not cover the cost of those 200GB of data transfer alone. Overselling is the only way.

This is not shared hosting. One must be very careful when promising resellers way more than their prices cover. Resellers are the kind who, in the long run, use some good percents of what you've promised them.

Nope - that design was done by http://www.loadingdeck.com

Thanks for pointing this out, Allen and Jake stumbled upon it and contacted their provider about the infringement this morning.. unfortunately they're not the only or largest provider on WHT ripping off our branding right now either. =\

update, the site is down to a text interface with the exception of their support suite which still displays the ubiquity design.

LOL what a bunch of n00bz.. hope no one paid them any money for service.. they'll more than likely be disappointed, or worse, ripped off.

They know your non-adult sites will use just a few megs of space and about 3 gigs bandwidth so they could offer 1000GB for $5 no prob.

We were joking at the company xmas party on Friday about sending another DMCA complaint about the new splash page citing www.nobistech.net - but this should be good enough.

My favorite part of this is how the text descriptions are barely edited whatsoever after being ganked from our site. Apparently, I'm exactly the same as one of their support representatives. It looks like we might have some bizarro (sp?) counter-parts on our hands here (Seinfeld anyone?).

*All of their descriptive paragraphs about their administration/staff were directly taken from the descriptions written by our website administrator. Classy!
