    MLB Site Redirecting to Porn

Just saw a post on another forum by someone saying there were getting redirected to a porn site when visiting mlb.com - obviously first ideas were spyware etc. I tried the site in my browser (Firefox) with no issue. Then I tried it in IE7 and sure enough after a few refreshes you get redirected to a youtube like site where the video automatically starts and streams hard core porn straight away.

Doing some research it appears that Flash ads on the site are doing the redirect - http://www.wired.com/techbiz/media/n...11/doubleclick

For the parents among you I would suggest perhaps seeing how many times your kids have been checking out MLB.com over the Xmas break!!

For the site owners among you I would suggest you are very careful to monitor the Flash adverts you are allowing on your site especially if you are using DoubleClick!

P.S. Obviously do not try and test this if you are at work or around kids, it's really ridiculous that this hasn't been taken off yet!

I just refreshed and waited 10 seconds about 20 times, and I got no redirect.

Still doing it here. I have however contacted them so hopefully someone is working today that can take a look at this!

What browser did you view it in and do you have any adblocking software? Doesn't do it for me in Firefox, only IE.

Could possibly be only in an advert shown to people outside the US. All the people that mention it here in Europe.

Looking on google everyone that is having the problem is based outside the USA/Canada, still definitely happening here though!

Seems quite a few people have emailed them about it, will see if I get anyway response. It's one particular Flash advert which comes up and then redirects you away.

It's a fake Chanel watch advert being served from http://ad.doubleclick.net (which is why it's blocked in my Firefox).

I've found the SWF file which is causing the issue:

hxxp://ad.doubleclick.net/1674952/mlb_chanel.swf (URL is purposely got xx in there as I do not suggest actually visiting it!!)

Definitely coming from the Ad server, must just be targeted at people outside the USA/Canada.

I think this has to be quite a big warning to people that use 3rd party ad serving companies as it seems things like this slip through without being checked. And for a site like MLB to be hit which quite feasibly has thousands of kids visiting is I think absolutely ridiculous, especially as this has been happening for several days now!

Just baseball here but I don't have IE to mess with.

Assuming this is still happening it is pretty scary for the kiddies out there...
