Is there any Hotmail clone software for Linux?
Users can make their own account by registration and receive/send email on web browser. Just like Hotmail.

thanks guys. but you are missing my points. both don't allow users make their own accounts by registration. administrator should make users mail account.
what i want is just like Hotmail. you can open your own webmail account by simple registration.

Can "regular" users create new accounts with SquirrelMail? I didn't think they could

    Edit: heh I guess not

squirrelmail and imp (horde.org) are only front ends to POP3 or IMAP servers. Creating an account is not their job. If you want a complete solution, take a look at this paper:

solutionscripts.com does, last I check it was 400. Works though, and is pretty decent.

    Try one of these:

    http://www.inter7.com/vqregister/

I've never used either of them, but by their descriptions, it looks like that is what you're looking for.

I don't think there is any freeware clone of hotmail or yahoo which you are looking for. If you find then please post here.

I know what you are talking about. I was looking for the exact same as you for a period of time there. I bought Alias-Mail from solutionscripts.com for $400 last year and it has been nothing but problems. I just took it down from my site. He would not refund my money. Trust me:

    1. Alias-Mail is junk.
    2. Free email hosting in general is a waste of time.

Although, this post has nothing to do with this topic.
