Wordpress?
I run a web design business and for the last 2 years ive had the main site using just html pages with the billing as support using WHMCS. Now im fed up with having to edit my html pages and id like to use a CMS to handle the front end and keep WHMCS.
I love the simplicity of Wordpress and use it on another project purely as a blog but im thinking i could use it as a CMS and then just use the Add Pages feature. The problem is that while i would like to keep the blog side of things to post news etc i dont want the blog to be default on the main page. Does anyone know of a way i could keep the WP index page as a normal index page without blog posts or can you recommend something else as simple and more suitable the WP?

In Wordpress...
Options > Reading
You then get the option
Front page displays:Your latest posts...and then select a hand-crafted page as the front page
A static page (select below)
...will that give you what you are looking for?
Not convinced you are using the right tool though, as WP is blogging software, not CMS (there are numerous free CMS packages to choose from, each with their merits and drawbacks)
