Resellers and their Customers

I'm curious what everyone else does with regards to resellers and when they get suspended. We're pretty lenient with regards to non payment but at a point we obviously suspend resellers. Some of their customers one way or another find out who they are using and come to us.

Some of them obviously want their site back up. Some will instantly order services from us and become a customer of ours instead. We'll bring them online on one of our shared servers and they'll be happy. To a degree I feel bad about doing that to our resellers but at the same time they're failing to pay and as a result their sites are down so their customers are looking elsewhere.

So what do you do when this situation comes up?

The second one I'm wondering about is with regards to termination of resellers. Obviously you have resellers who are fly by night hosts leaving their customers high and dry. What do you do in this situation when it's obvious all the sites are still pointing to your servers while being suspended? Do you just terminate the entire reseller or do you attempt to contact these customers? We've taken the stance of being a very anonymous host with regards to resellers so we've always kept it that way and terminated the accounts. But it's a really bad situation for those who were hosted.

So what do you do in this situation?

A reseller account is a reseller account, the clients are the resellers and not yours, best to stay that way unless the clients somehow find out. You could go snap up all the clients but I don't think it's right.
Just as you said it, be anonymous with reseller accounts.

It's important to consider this situation when you are making your TOS agreement. You should have a section of the terms that grants you the authority to deal with resellers' customers when that reseller becomes past due or unresponsive.

Never thought of that, it's a nice idea.

That is a pretty nice idea with regards to dealing with this sort of thing.

Maybe your reseller's clients are not paying him, thats why he is unable to pay you...just a thought..dont take it serious
