FTP not working through cPanel
I just did a fresh install of cPanel and went through the setup process. I created a new account and can access the domain via browser however I cannot access FTP, I just get connection failed, but it's the right ip. I also can't access a subdomain I created via the browser, but it's there! Anyone have any ideas what could be contributed to this?

is the ftp server even running?
try to telnet to port 21 of the ftp server. if you can get there and get an FTP banner, then you're all good. if not, then you need to restart the FTP server.
In many cases, the ftp server won't restart if you've just rebooted the server, automatically.Tom Whiting, WHMCS Guru extraordinaire

That was it! I had to restart the FTP service, thank you!
However, the sub-domain I created still does not work...

Also, none of the changes I make via FTP actually show up through the browser, it's as though the location is not the same
