your review of CentOS
I'm thinking about using CentOS as my OS with DirectAdmin and WHMCS.. anyone on here done this?? was it stable??

CentOS is stable. It is the idea around CentOS to be stable.

It's basically RHEL without having to pay for the license.
It will be what you make of it. If you keep an eye on your resources, you will have absolutely no problem.
My CentOS 5 server:
01:01:32 up 116 days, 11:14, 2 users, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00

Same for me here, Centos runs fantastic and we normally use it for our mission critical servers. Reboot is about once or twice a year.

CentOS is like the free RHEL essentially. Never had a single issue with them and as others have said they can run forever.
We had one that was up for over a year (was not public facing so kernels were not a worry). The only time it went down is when it was being replaced█ Tony B. - Chief Executive Officer

My CentOS server averages 65 days uptime per reboot, the only reason I take it down periodically is for OS and kernel updates. Very stable provided you know what you are doing security wise to prevent compromises.

I run CentOS with WHMCS and DirectAdmin servers. I couldn't be happier. I just rebooted a CentOS machine that was up for nearly 340 days (I only rebooted it because I was forced to move the power cable).

CentOS is OK but RedHat is the way to go.

I had freebsd.... just moved to centos, very good stable =) people keep saying "no need to reastart but I usually restart it once a year or so =)
