.net frameworks - install all?

Hi all,

Just like discountasp.net , We want to support all frameworks (1,2 and 3) and asp.net versions to date (1,1 2 and 3.5 and installed all frameworks together with the ajax version for asp.net 2. Is it really necesarry to have all versions installed, or is the latest version (3 & 3.5) enough to support all previous things?

Thanks,

Hello,

I would recommend all three as there will be .Net 1.1 legacy apps around for a while.

Best wishes.

You will need to install v1.1 but v3.0 and v3.5 are extensions of v2.0. Hence it is necessary to have v2.0 installed to install v3.0 and v3.5.

Thanks,

v3.5 installation

Hi.

Do you have to go through v3.0 to install v3.5?

Also, is there any backward compatibility issue with v2.0 if I install v3.5 on my hosting server?

Will I still be able to use v2.0? (new and existing apps)

Thanks

Jean-Philippe

There should be no compatibility issues with 3.5. As a previous poster said, 3.5 is simple an extension of 2.0. On the server you will still only see options to select 1.1 or 2.0 in IIS properties even after 3.5 is installed. Simply select version 2.0 and you will have all the features of 2.0 + 3.5.

Regards,

Wayne
