moving site to new host and getting 404 page not found
I'm in the process of moving sites from one host to another. Everything's been great, except one domain, which was moved 2 days ago, is showing 404/page not found errors....I can see the pages fine and so can a few other people but some individuals (including my client) reported this and when I did a test in Litmus I am getting a few errors.
http://fcdesign.litmusapp.com/pub/a9ec76b
I did clear all browser history/cache, etc., and flushed the dns (though it was already pinging to the new IP)...and still getting errors.
Is this just a wait and see with the DNS propagation waiting time?
Files by the way are currently residing on both the old and the new host servers.
Thanks in advance

Well, one way you can find out is try yourip.com/~username if its control panel. You can also do a whois.sc search and see if the DNS has finished propagation.

I can see your website is working fine here. You should check it again.

That is strange.
I guess you will have to ask your host regarding this. They might be able to see something relevant in the logs.

Hi...yeah, it definitely is strange...as I said I can see it fine, so can a few others but it's still showing up w/ errors elsewhere.
I did contact the new host, Downtownhost, and they don't really have an explanation, so I'm a little frustrated and puzzled.

Hi...good idea...I'm able to access cpanel both via thedomainname.com as well as the IP address...the whois source shows it's propagated.
It just makes me a little uneasy...

Try to clear your browser's cache and reboot your pc (if you run windows)... If you didn't do this already that is
EDIT. Yes, it works just fine here too.

I'm pretty sure that's a propagation issue, I personally tried with 4 different browsers, with a PDA, notebook, through a Webproxy and all them show the correct page.

Hello,
Your page seems to be working now, I just get a test not found page (if thats what you wanted us to see).
Thanks,
Centixa.

I think that most of you tried to access to http://fcdesign.litmusapp.com/pub/a9ec76b which is not the page with the issue, I wont post though the URL without my customer authorization.

In that case, may be give it one more day. Let's give time for the dns to propagate globally.

Somehow the issue seems like it could be a bit more complicated than a simple DNS propagation thingy.
Try to see if using OpenDNS helps the customer access his site properly.
