php, MySQL, MyODBC, and MS Access
I am trying to access a MS Access database located on a Windows 2000 server from a php page. I followed the directions located @ Chili!Soft ASP + Microsoft Access How-To. I have installed MySQL, but I am not sure where MyODBC needs to be installed. I tried to install MyODBC on my RaQ4 server and got this error:
[root /root]# cd /<br>
[root /]# cd home/tmp<br>
[root tmp]# ls<br>
MyODBC-2.50.39-1.i386.rpm chili-psm sentry<br>
[root tmp]# rpm -ivh MyODBC-2.50.39-1.i386.rpm<br>
error: failed dependencies:<br>
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.2) is needed by MyODBC-2.50.39-1<br>
[root tmp]# locate lic.so.6<br>
[root tmp]# locate libc.so.6<br>
I know that the instructions are for ASP, but it should work for php, as long as I use the proper commands. BTW, the test connection works, so I know it is able to reach the database.
The problem that I am experiencing is that the odbc_connect is not being recognized. I get the following error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: odbc_connect() in /home/sites/domain/web/phptest.htm on line 37
Did I miss a step or do I need to install/configure something? I really need for this to work.
I have been searching the net, but I have not found anything that addresses this particular issue.
