The New York Noc down/slow again?

    Using network-tools.com

My site and their site are accessible to an extent, but very slow and time out off and on. I used a third party ping tool so that I could verify the problem was outside my personal connection (comcast).

I can't get their site to load well enough to put a support ticket in and the live chat window did come up, but apparently "online" listing on their site actually means completely offline.

I can't access to my server even since few hours ago but i received an email few hours ago.

    Dear client,

This morning you may be experiencing random packet loss on the network. This is due to a BGP loop being caused by one of the facility's routers. They are working hard to get this resolved as soon as possible.

    Thank you

    The same issue has returned.

They are waiting on a replacement router, which apparently should be there within the hour.

Their support site is located offsite - I believe its thenynocportal.com

Edit: Seems to be on the same network as thenynoc.com - I do think they have an offsite support desk though, unless I'm thinking of another company.

Only part of it - which is weird. One of my machines is down completely, but by logged in via another machine - I can see that just the network cable has been unplugged.

    Weird.

Right now, I can't reach my machine, thenynoc.com or thenynocportal.com
The last two were online when issue with my machine started...

Just found out the affected server is on a different switch - so it looks like some of the servers are safe!

I also noticed the same as you Sc0uT - when traffic on mine started to get flakey, I put in a ticket - then when it went completely, I still had time to put in another ticket saying the NIC was unplugged before their support site went too!

Ok - the issue is being caused by a massive DDOS attack on one of the servers on a certain switch - thus all servers on that switch are being affected.

I *think* I've just been put onto another switch, as when I posted - my affected server was back - although I still can't access the NY Noc main site.

Sorry for people still down - I know how frustrating it feels!

Just wondering why they don't disconnect the affected server? It is affecting everyone.

I believe Andy can solve them, real soon! .
