Windows Server 2003 License
Hello,
I was searching the whole forum, but I got no luck on trying to find an answer for my question.
I own a Windows Server 2003 Standard license, right now I'm using LayeredTech, but they told me I can't use my own license and the last 3 months I've been paying them 30$ for the license.
So, my question is: Is there any GOOD/FAST (Speed, support, and price), datacenter that can let me use my own license of Windows Server instead of paying for it?
Regards,
Andre

actually no, we can't do that either, how do we know that the key isn't bootlegged or some other random issue. Most hosting companies are the same way for the same reason.

with colocation no, unless you were having us do a reinstall, then again in that case, same issue, unless you provided us with a ghost drive or something. There is another option. Ask your provider or person that your going to be hosting with, if you can buy the server from them.

What are you using the license for? If its for hosting you'll need to get an SPLA.

Here is the issue:
I'm a Microsoft Action Pack subscriber, I'm also a TechNet subscriber. Both way I have a license of Windows Server 2003. It's easy to prove that (pdf screenshots, maybe a confirmation from Microsoft via email), but the problem is: no physical documents.
30$ paying each month for something you own, it's a bit annoying, I could use it to upgrade hardware or to get another license, that's why I was asking if this could be possible.

Andre

I think the Action Pack can only be used for internal use so it all depends on what you are going to use the licenses for.

It's not for hosting, I'm going to test a new project I'm developing in ASP/MSSQL.
An its not for internal use, this is what you can read in Microsoft site:
How does Microsoft Action Pack software licensing work?
The Microsoft Action Pack Subscription License Agreement gives you the right to use the Action Pack software to run your own business as well as for evaluation, demonstration, testing, and education

Reading a FAQ is never going to be sufficient for software licensing. Read the EULA for the licenses, you'll find the Action Pack is more restrictive than you think.
