Server Requirements for Social Network?
what are the server requirements for hosting a social network website? i plan to start a social network site using DZOIC script.
I am worried about server load and other stuff? what type of hosting i should be after.
I am newbie to hosting such high bandwidth sites and any expert could advice me, that would be of great help!

Probably be best to run a simple server and work your way up as the sites' traffic and business increases, when you need to move to another server have a small bit of downtime to transfer the SQL data. You don't need a really high spec to start of with imo probably something with about 2GHz min and 1GB ram and a sata Hd

It all depends on how many users you are going to have, how many are going to be online simultaniously, etc.
I would atleast start with a dual core system with 2GB of RAM if you expect it to have a good startup and signup rate and such.KnownHost Managed VPS Specialists

Social network software seems to use a lot of database, I would recommend getting faster drives as you might run into some bottlenecks. It would be worth it down the road when you get more traffic.

Well, just do a try with a vps and then switch to a dedicated when needed...
