Go take a look at Freewebspace.net's request forum. Theres a TON of users simply copy and pasting their companies offers in all the request threads. I think that the request forum would be abused and not worth the trouble. A user can surely located a package that fits them by looking through the offers forum.

i already presented a detailed explanation of the perfect requests forum setup, and that thread got less replies than this completely vague one, so there you go.

[suggestion] : hosting requests
I know there are offers forums, but I think a requests forum for hosting is much more productive. I've seen other forums do it and it seems to work with very little spamming. People ask, hosts respond, simple
Helps hosts & people looking for hosts.0

Sorry, + 1 vote for yes, but perhaps premium members only would be a good idea reply-wise. Another incentive for hosts to go premium (I probably would, because currently the premium forums seem to have few views, so I don't see my benefit in paying, but this would *probably* convince me).

Any update on this/decision? I think from the thread the general want is for a requests forum to which only premium members can respond...

I don't see Hosting Requests forums ever making a return on WHT.
There is no best host. There is only the host that's best for you.0

Yep they did..
When they were first removed, I wasn't too happy. But now I can confidently say it was a good move. Requests should stay out of this forum as you'll simply get too many ridiculous hosts offering the world to the user for almost nothing, and then goes bust when school starts.
So I voted no.0

Voted No.
It is doable under certain circumstances, like:
- Only premium members can post replies.
- Hosts can post replies only one thread in one day.
etc. etc. which means forum will need some customizations.
Won't worth...
Oh! And +1 here too for Harzem's great example0

No, I agree but disagree about making it paid.
Making it for premium members isn't cool. Make it an extra paid thing so iNet gets paid more.AS3955580

I think that the person which are going to creat a thread and do not have experience on the WHT musrt be wanrned:
1. Make sure that you have chosen correct forum for that
2. Please make search on the offer section connected to your request and make request in the certain place (do not want name it) before creating new thread.ServerPoint.com - a true hosting company offering online presence solutions since 1998.

Do you think allowing only premium members, or asking the repliers for money will stop the amount of useless responses?
I can imagine 100s of people who will join premium for posting on requests forum and will still post the most useless responses on every thread.
Too much hassle for what it's worth
Best action would be limiting the replies per week. Say, a hoster can response to two threads per week, so they won't post useless responses on every thread.
Still, I voted for NO and I keep my vote like that.0

why isn't there a requests forum?
Several times per day, a thread like this will show up:
hi plz recommend companies who can give me this
75PB space
600KB bandwidth
php7
mysql8
so why don't you just make it?
The age-old argument is, everyone's just going to spread copypasta everywhere, and to that argument, I argue that you can just rewrite your rules, and alert, or ban the copypasters.
You could also limit the amount of posting hosts can do in the forum.
You could also sell more premium memberships by letting premium membership subscribers post in the forum more.
Hostvoice isn't good.

Copypasta? On my WHT?
I think if there were to be a requests forum, a $1/post fee would suffice as moderation.0
