You can, just not within thier advertisement, and only if it doesn't break any other rules in the process.
This is webhostingtalk, is the talk limited to only what's positive?
everyone should have the right to question it.Your one stop shop for decentralization

It's felt that by allowing an ad to be simply an ad, without critiques, judgment, complaints, arguments and so on, it can be allowed it's original purpose; to advertise the host/business.
By allowing any of the above, it opens the way to abuse by those that may have left the host, be in competition with the host and various other less-than-altruistic reasons.
Ads are left to be ads. Simple.Your one stop shop for decentralization

Alright, I can agree with new threads where someone is offering their services in the first post. However, I believe threads where one requests a service, anyone should allowed to debate and compete for an offer.

No, that would be a requests forum. We've already established that won't be happening.

In case anyone had anything non-frivilous that hadn't been said yet.

68 users out of 180,719 registered voted. If my math hasn't failed me that's 0.0367% of WHT.

The numbers might be higher if some of the hosts ventured out of the hosting forums to mingle with the rest of us

An average of members actually online regularly using wht would have been a fairer rule to use.
I dare say out of the 180,719 regged members, many of them will be either dead, in jail (i.e james from trexhost) or filed away in a lunatic asylum. As we know also a lot of members join up and never come back. Therefore regular members online would be a democratic method of measuring percentages to vote.
Ubr3 makes a valid point.

The percentage I threw out wasn't meant to be used as a hard statistic by any mean, but rather a number to show that these polls aren't really that telling (that could also easily mean that 90% of WHT wants the request forum).
