Add On Domain
With shared hosting I added on a domain but it looks like this:
originaldomain.com/addon.com
Can I make it appear as just addon.com without my main domain showing up in the address bar?

originaldomain.com/addon is a parked domain, normally free of charge and unlimited.
addon.originaldomain.com is an subdomain.
if you just want addon.com, you'll have to register another domain name. It can be hosted with the originaldomain.com under the same hosting plan if this is available in your hosting plan.[ James Lee - Cloud & Web Hosting Specialist • 10+ Years WHT Veteran]

I have the addon.com registered and I added it to my cpanel but it appears as originaldomain.com/addon.com in the address bar when I upladed a file with FTP to the new addon.com database.

Yes, I understand what you are talking about. You should be find on most hosts, but if it doesn't work try editing your .htaccess file.
Is this what you are talking about?:
You have 2 domains. 1 domain is the original domain, and the other domain is the add-on domain. You added on the domain to the original domain using the Add-On domain function in cPanel I beleive.
But when you access the add-on domain you see it in your browser URL as originaldomain.com/add-on domain/... correct?██ HostMonkey | Your kingdom starts here. (tweet us @HostMonkeynet)
