Close the forum.
There are plenty of other forums for political, religious, or any other issues. If people need to discuss any topic, I'm pretty sure that at least one or more forums exist to please that poster.
If a poster needs to have their WHT discussions on the technical side, then WHT has a few of them. If a WHT member needs to vent or discuss any social issue, then it shouldn't be a problem to open up another window with some other political or religious forum opened at the same time. I do that all the time and WHT is not my primary or even favorite forum for discussions. I spend a lot more time posting and discussing non-computer stuff elsewhere. A forum that is designed and monitored as a political or religious or "social issues" forum is way better than one that wasn't designed for such in the first place.
I might find some of you elsewhere. That's not to say that I won't be visiting WHT from time to time. I'll be checking in, and I might even post if I see the need.0

For me this is simple - if you don't like the thread, don't read it. Deleting it because those who have no control over their mouse feel it needs to be deleted, is ridiculous.

I voted YES.
A social forum can be fun and is relaxing as long as people don't take everything too serious and personal.
It is like the place you hang out with the guys during lunch break or after work. Those who want to be part of it come, those who don't stay away. A lot is discussed, sometimes it gets hot - at the end you know each other a little better, which is a Plus for everyone when you're back at work.http://www.ct-graphics.com :: photos and photo objects for web and print0

Closing this sub forum would be like putting a dagger through the heart of free democratic speech on social issues that are of interest to everyone, even those who say it's not.
now for the baseball caps...available in a choice of colours
anyhow I can't drum up all the support to keep it alive and will happily sit back, observe and will be a gentleman in agreement with whatever the outcome is.

How come the vote count didn't rise after the last 2 votes?
When I joined, it was 28/37. I voted yes. ChrisGraph voted yes, but the count remains at 28/37.
The vote count sits at 65. That is what it was before I voted.0

I already voted before the thread was closed for "clean-up", just had no chance to reply.
So my vote may have been counted earlier.http://www.ct-graphics.com :: photos and photo objects for web and print0

SoftwareRevue ...Anon-e-Mouse and the rest of the team in here are the fairest of people.
Not to worry because the party ain't over till it's over and I see there's been a development.

Since there's no time limit on the poll I guess it's over when the majority voted "YES"

I think the SI base should be a 'PRIVATE BASE' That way all the idiots that dont want to see it (Cause they cant make themselves STAY OFF THAT BASE!!) wont have anything to complain about!!
Access to Social Issues will have to be Given from one of the staff members and you have to have shown your a mature member who can handle such a privlidge
Thats what i think should be done.... WHY TAKE IT AWAY FROM THOSE OF US THAT CAN HANDLE IT?? (Just get rid of the bad seeds)

Now I see that it has risen by 3 votes!

I think that base is DOOMED because of 2 things
1) TOO MANY PEOPLE CANT JUST STAY AWAY IF THEY DONT LIKE SOMETHING,THEY GOTTA MAKE IT SO NO ONE CAN SEE IT.. (Nature of the world)
2) Mars is RETROGRADE until January 30th making any type of gain HARD......... (I hope my idea is considered,i really do)
Very sad world we live in.......

Sad, but true.
I don't understand the need to look even though there is no interest. It's a thread for goodness sake. How much space does it take up?
Yet and still, those who for various reasons, have a problem with it being there, still look even though they have no interest in it. That in itself is bizarre to me, but to take it away from those who are interested?
Why?
If you don't like the thread, why read through it?
...and if you don't like the thread, why tell others they can't have it?
Purely selfish IMHO.0

The experience of free speech is like the experience of life itself-always changing, infinite in its variety, sometimes turbulent and all the more valuable for having been tested by adversity.
