Save yourself some headaches and if your interested in getting in the hosting biz do it yourself.. Believe me alot of us have been there and done that and once in a blue moon a partnership works out. Also what exactly do you think the duties of a "vice-president" would be?
If you feel you must form a partnership to get off the ground, do your homework; don't just pick the first person who happens along this thread and wants to join up. A partnership is intended to be a long-term investment and ultimately will factor into how successful your business becomes.
I'm not opposed to the idea partnerships, but so many people jump in headfirst without considering all the possible positives and negatives this type of arrangement brings.
If you want to serve as Vice President because you don't feel you have the technical savvy to manage a server, perhaps you should consider starting out with a reseller's account while you learn. If you simply don't want to invest the time or energy into running a business, maybe you should opt to invest in an already "off the ground" company.
Whatever you decide, good luck to you! I hope it all works out!

With the new law that came out, it's best not to be the CEO or CFO

partnerships should be a REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLY good friend, or a relative.
I disagree. I partnered with a friend in business (non-hosting) and now we are no longer friends. I think it is best to partner with maybe a good acquaintance but not good friend. To many things can go wrong. Just watch Startup.com.
