Bank Accounts.
I have recently started a hosting business and would like to ask some of you what are some online banking options that you know about. I have searched some on google but there are hundreds to choose from. I would just like some input from some of you and maybe some recommendations for a online bank. I am a citizen of the united states so I would need to get a bank account there. Thanks

Well I am using whmcs as my billing software. I have the paypal gateway set up but to be verified through them you do have to have a bank account tied to the paypal. I do not want to have my personal account tied to the business. I would also like to explore some options to accept cc payment because I am finding that some do not like to use paypal. This option also requires a bank account.

If you're just looking for a bank account to allow you to do your normal banking procedures online, I doubt there's many that don't offer that option.
I've tried a few and National City has a great interface. Of course, that doesn't help you if they don't have a branch office near you. I'd suggest to just look at what your local bank(s) offers. There is no best host. There is only the host that's best for you.

Yeah I have looked at the local options but not anything that really caught my eye. I just need somewhere for the money to go to and maybe where I can transfer money from once a month. Other than that really no other bells and whistles. Thanks for the responses so far.

They give you a Visa debit card with a REAL bank account in the usa. No US document required, just your IDs Pics and some bill for a recurrent service to proove your address.

National City & Key Bank are two that I recommend for business banking. Huntington is also a good one. If none of those are in your area, Dollar Bank & Chase are ones that I have also had good relations with. No I don't bank hop, I have also worked in the financial industry, so I know the setup of a large majority of the banking institutions out there.
Keep in mind, if you're looking to have the bank account in the business' name, you will need to have an EIN. If you have already setup an LLC, or a similar type of incorporation, you can apply for an EIN at https://sa.www4.irs.gov/sa_vign/newFormSS4.do. However if you're operating your business as a sole proprietorship, you will need to have the bank account setup in your name. In order to cash checks or money orders made out to the business name, a copy of the DBA transcript filed at your local county office needs to be faxed over to your local banking branch.
Despite how complex I just made that all sound, it's really fairly simple. You usually won't spend more than a couple of hours doing it all, and once it's all setup, it's usually good to go for good.

That sounds pretty shady to me, but thats just my opinion. If it costs you to have an account, your at the wrong bank unless they offer some type of premium services.
I agree with SoftWareReview. I would recommend checking out your local banks and i do highly recommend national city as well.

For online use I would stick with PayPal. They handle the whole payment side of your hosting business and you don't have to worry about keeping sensitive information on your server.
They also help you out if you run into some trouble. A lot of the billing programs out there also support PayPal. So compatibility should not be a problem.

I do use the paypal but in order to be verified you must have a bank account tied to it. And also to use other gate ways such as world pay you have to have a bank account . Thank you all for the responses. I have much info to dig through. I still welcome any other info.

I have an E*TRADE Checking Account with a VISA Debit Card and both work with PayPal. Funds are transfered from 2CO to my E*TRADE Bank Account weekly and I use the VISA Debit Card to pay my suppliers and I live in the UK!
Works for ME!

Is your business registered? Meaning, is it a legitimate"business" or just something you run as a hobby? If it's a real business, it would probably be best if you opened a business account with a local bank. I am sure there are some good name brand banks nearby, and most all big banks these days offer great online banking sites. The nice thing with having a business account is that people can write you checks in the name of your company, which looks more professional. And you can write checks too when going out to make purchases.

We utilize a standard Bank of America account in the US. Was kind of a pain to setup but well worth it.

Thanks all for the responses. I am looking at one located here http://www.hsbcdirect.com They are a usa bank but I believe that they have banks in other parts of the world as well. One thing that caught my eye was they will allow me to add someone to the account that is not a U.S citizen. This would work out well being I have a partner located in the U.K . Any one know the scoop on these people. I have done a bit of searching and have found quite a few good reviews. Any info anyone could provide on this company would be appreciated.

In fact, they're associated. The card that you see on the Tomato Bank's page, is the one that you'll receive. And I called to the bank for a problem with the card and they gave me the ext. number from the accent card manager on the bank.
It's very expensive, yes... Don't know there, but here the banks also cost money! but for international merchants, that was the way to get out the money from Paypal... now in some countries you can just add your local debit card and that's all█ Nahuel Lanzón - nahuel.lanzon[@]lemuriacorp.com

I use Washington Mutual (WaMu) as they allowed me to open a business account over the phone and even sent me out free checks. All this and no monthly fees to boot.
I wish the Canadian Banks were this generous too.AptHost Communications Inc.{www.AptHost.com}

Just get a local checking account and that's it, not sure what the problem here is. Seems pretty straight forward to me. We use Key and it's ok. Others are better though as far as fees go.

First, I should clarify that I already had a personal account there. So all I had to do was fax in my articles of Incorporation.
