Just to clarify... you want the following:

I own abc hosting - the url for the company is abchosting.com. as a customer you want the e-mail address of you@abchosting.com
    neil MCITP, VCP

I think if you have a domain name, then you get an e-mail address of your domain something like you@yourdomain.com,,,all the webhosts do that,,,but if you mean you@yourwebhost.com then I am not sure....

    may be http://fullwebservice.com might help....

  5. #5
No i think he's asking about Outsourced E-mail
    IE: BigMailBox.com

where it's a service that allows anyone who visits your site to get an E-mail addy at Yoursite.com

    IE Hotmail,Yahoo. Etc

    --

to answer the question. any host can work with them since it is just a change to the MX ( or Mail Xchange ) Record.

Normally they give you a form letter to mail to your host, and then you just add in a few lines of code to your page.

I would think almost any host could do that for you. All, they need to do is setup custom MX records to point to your e-mail provider.

combining standard hosting with 'visitor' email could be useful for clubs, hobby sites, and retail sites with a popular domain name (such as geographical/sports/charity names).

if the domain name is appealing for email use, the website could get more traffic, and very interested traffic.

I checked into a couple of the email hosts last year, they seemed to direct the browsers ( www..domainname..com) to an email operations page. Useful if all you provide is email. Directing to a standard webhosted site would have been more desirable to me. I could then provide a link to the visitor email operations page.

Seen for the first time a domain name with 2 dots

www (dot dot) domain name (dot dot ) com
An besides they provide just email forwarding

Anyway i am using eMail services for my domain from OEMMAil
    and they are providing free
i was just wondering that if there is a PAID host that will Host Both my Site and My Public Mail

There used to a bunch of free services that did just that.. but most have either gone out of business or have began charging for it... But if you look hard you will still find a few vendors providing services like these in exchange for advertising...

Your other alternative would be to hook up with a host that offers unmetered domains and e-mail accounts and to see if there is anyway you can mix and match to come out with a solution that satisfies your need

I was trying to refer to a domain name in a generic way. Since that particular name exists, I put the extra dots in the keep it from showing up as a link here.

    ..

Its actually a matter of security. We will not compromise the shared accounts of other clients on the same server. And not to mention the complains that are normally associated with free e-mail accounts (Spam!)

On the other hand, if you're willing to somewhat verify the signups manually (somewhat tedious), you could put up a form on your site and have that submitted either to a database or e-mail address. You could then later manually process these email accounts. In that case, this would work with us.

    Cheers!

Free DNS services like www.mydomain.com let you forward different address to different accounts:
    ie: bob@mysite.com >>> bob@hotmail
    marg@mysite.com >>> cats@rogers.com
You'd have to set them up manually tho.

You could also try free www.zzn.com & your visitors could have addresses like bob@mysite.zzn.com marg@mysitre.zzn.com
