Google and it's custom search engine feat. --I can't get it to work!

OK, I selected the option:
"Host results on a non-Google site using an:
iframe – requires two pages: one for the search box and another for the results"

Then it says "Specify the url in your site where you want the search results to appear:"

So I put http://www.domain.com/2.html (just for testing purposes)
It then gives me a code.

Next it says "Paste this code on http://www.domain.com/2.html, where you would like your search results to appear."
(It gives me another code for the results)

So I create a page called 2.html, and just put the code on 2.html, that's it.

So I put the search box code on 1.html, it displays correctly, and the results are supposed to show on 2.html, but they don't. I don't know why, I am doing exactly as they ask.

Why isn't this working?

Where do the results appear? Or do they not appear at all? What, specifically, is happening when you click the "search" button?

Thank you.

Eliz.

Nothing is showing up at all, and yes, I am using UTF-8 on both pages.

I assume it's just a typo, but in your above post they were both called 2.html.

So you have "1.html", with coding for the search box which takes the inputs and directs the outputs to "2.html", and you have "2.html" with coding for accepting the feed from "1.html" and displaying the results...? (I haven't used this service, so I may be asking a blindingly-obvious question, for which I apologize.)

Also, when "nothing is showing up at all", does that mean the "1.html" goes blank, and nothing happens? Not even the URL for "2.html" is showing up in the browser? The entire page just goes gray?

Thank you.

Eliz.
