Praveen,

Welcome to the community this thread is probably better suited for the "running a webhosting business" forum and I'm sure it'll be moved.

Couple of thing sto check into

Billing:
Ubersmith
Modernbill
WHMCS
HSPComplete

Control Panel:
Plesk
CPanel
DirectAdmin
HSphere

Personally we use modernbill and have for a very very long time. ALthough there are a good deal of improvements in version 5 we're still sticking with the v4 code train as we have too many customistations to move to v5.

Best of luck in your new venture.

If you have already purchased reseller hosting and ready to start, then it looks like you jumped the gun. You need to slow down, and research things more carefully before starting up..

Although there is nothing wrong with begining a web hosting business on a reseller, like IH-Rameen said you may have jumped ahead of yourself.

I think if you want to keep your domain and hosting company up while you're learning that's fine but on a live environment it wouldn't work so well because there will be times you won't know what the hell is going on!

I'd suggest, as a start to read through The Web Hosting Talks "Web Hosting Wiki" at the top of this board.

Good luck egraphica!

If you want it fully automated, you could get server management and end-user support from third party firms like seeksadmin, bobcares and so on. Check the management offers.

Hopefully I read the OP correct and I will respond how I read it. It's early so give me some slack.

---

Everyone starts somewhere and if you have a decent reseller plan - then you don't need to be concerned with getting a dedicated box so soon. Learn the reseller plan inside and out to get a very basic idea on what is to be expected.

Also - if you already have a reseller plan, then you are currently using a control panel that you can offer your clients but in case your still interested, I would recommend cPanel or HShpere.

On the billing script - since your starting out - I would go with WHMCS because it has all the features you will need and will help cut down on the cost of a helpdesk since there is a tight one already included that offers KB, Tickets,, Downloads, etc. (www.WHMCS.com)

If I were going to jump into the arena of hosting with no to limited knowledge of how it all works, I would move very slowly. Create some fake accounts and learn how to manage and set those up. Try offering your hosting to a few friends that would be more understanding if something goes wrong. Offer them a reduced price to compensate for your learning. You could even ask them to make some trouble for you so you can learn by fire what steps you need to take to fix issues.

Best of luck to you and who knows, you might find yourself years from now being the next big thing.

The answer is simple : H-Sphere !!

Forget having different billing system, support system, provision system etc. H-Sphere handles everything.

if you want to offer both Linux and Windows plans, H-Sphere is a very good product from my views

We use awbs with Plesk.

Also try out WHMC as it is a very simple, but very usable billing / automation system.

With your linux system, use cPanel/WHM with ClientExec billing
With your windows system, use Plesk with either ClientExec or WHMC or HostDirector

hi,
im also gonna start with webhosting business (local market)
for me, after consideration and found that cPanel & WHMCS were much more easier to set-up new webhosting business.

For starting, Im not prefer to jump over myself with reseller account..
