My experience with DownTownHost

okay, after doing a lot of research for finding my first ever paid hosting provider, i went down to two host with equally good reviews and rare negative reviews. i wont tell what the other host is, but obviously one is DTH. Basically, i like their packages, the good reviews, and you can find active DTH people here in WHT.

in the end, i almost decided to go for DTH. except that, last night, before i was gonna signup, i tried their livechat. i'm from PH so it would cost a lot to call their hotline and since i want immediate answers, i prefer livechat over email. but then 2-3 hrs on trying livechat was unsuccessful. so i was left for email and wait another day before i signup. the next day, my saturday, i saw in my inbox two emails from DTH. one is from Jorge which i received around 11pm my time of friday where he told me he's been trying to get my livechat request but for some reason we cant connect. another is from sebastian who answered my email question and i got it around 7am my time saturday. honestly, i was really sad that i couldn't get to talk to them via livechat when i only needed a few confirmations before i actually signup. but then i was really flattered from the email i got from Jorge for i felt that he cared enough to email me and check on me after we cant connect through livechat. what bothers me though is that the email support i got took 9hrs.

well after some thinking i still decided to go for DTH so once more i tried their livechat earlier before posting this. but still, it was unsuccessful. i always get "Please wait, an operator will be with you shortly. Your request is important to us. Please wait, an operator will be with you shortly." then after a few minutes will be sent to the email page. this is exactly what i experience friday night my time which im pretty sure is morning in their time. the livechat on their page says their online yet no matter how many tries i make, like tonight i tried again a lot, i never had a succesful livechat with them.

i really like DHT but this experience make me think again. the other host i chose has good support when it comes to livechat though i experience one being not courteous. But still i was able to talk to them all the time i tried. but with DHT, i never had the chance.

oh well, i hope i'd find a good reason for this. i'm still trying again, and hope to get some ideas about this. i'll keep this topic up to let you guys know if ever i finally went with DHT still.

Thanks!

hmmm im pretty sure the problem is not with my connection coz i am able to try other host's livechat fast. its only with DTH that im having a problem with. i wonder if it really has something to do with their livechat software since as per Jorge's email, he told me he saw me trying livechat but all i experienced was getting the waiting message until i get directed to the email page. hmm anyway im still trying til now and will just email again if ever i give up.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you IP start with 203.76.213.xxx?

I have been trying to accept your Live Chat 4 Times today. I always end up with a message saying that the window timed out (usually this happen when somebody close the window from the other side).

Edit:
I found who you are the email I sent it yesterday (near 20 hours ago, I'm not sure when you got it though).

If you don't mind to try again with another browser, I'll highly appreciate it.

My experience with Downtown's Chat was exactly as yours. Email support was quick, though.

1st month review of DownTownHost: My thoughts about their customer support

Okay, its been a month. Though i haven't done much yet aside from starting my personal blog due to my busy schedule, i still had some experiences with DTH that i wanted to share just in case anyone would be interested to know.

My 1st month review would all be about DTH's customer support. Well, i believe this is a very important factor to consider when looking for and/or staying with a host. Being away from web development for a long time made me seem like a total dummy when its comes to creating websites and working around cpanel. Yes, its like its my first time to see cpanel and i've been trying to familiarize myself with it, and also in managing my files and my blog's configurations and stuffs.

During this period, obviously i tend to commit a lot of mistakes that it even came to the point that i completely messed up all my files and i had to request to reset my whole account and start fresh again.

I'm learning already again and during those times i'm having problems, DTH's customer support never failed me, not once, whether via email or live chat. Oh, speaking of live chat, its working perfectly now coz every time i try it for quicker help, i am able to speak with someone. They're always there to help out. When i encounter an error whether my fault or their fault, they always resolve the issues quick.

so there, all i can say is that i'm very happy with their customer support. They're fast, friendly, helpful, and patient

And ofcourse i would be proud to name two people who has been very patient, helpful and nice to me - that's Jorge and Sebastian. Thanks guys!!!
